We have been reflecting on the subject of Christian Conversion. We said that conversion may be defined as turning away from sin and turning to God. Today we look at the second of several stories of conversion recorded in the Bible.
Let us consider “the conversion of the Prodigal Son” (Luke 15:11-32). This is one of the most well-known and much-loved stories of the Bible. In order to properly understand and appreciate the meaning of this parable, and its message of conversion, it is important to recall the background of this parable. Jesus was really saying, like a lost sheep, a lost coin, and a lost son, lost people matter to God.
