Today we start a new series of meditations from John’s Gospel. Today we look at the story of the Lord Jesus’ healing of a man by the Pool of Bethesda who could not walk. While this story speaks of the healing of a crippled man, the big picture is that those outside of Christ are sick with sin, and sinners sick with sin can’t contribute anything towards their healing. Healing comes purely on the basis of God’s mercy, grace and goodness. Our focus is on John 5:1-9.
