During the series this month, I will invite your time for reflection in the Book of Ruth. We will see how God used the resources He has so graciously and generously placed at our disposal to engage ministries of restoration to members of communities who have or are experiencing “Mara” encounters that leave them broken, bitter and empty.
This week we will consider Ruth’s commitment to Naomi as expressed in her declaration in Ruth 1:16-17. Ruth, responding to Naomi’s request that they sever their ties and return to their own people, declared “Entreat me not to leave you or to turn back from following after you for wherever you go I will go…”
This week as we encounter strangers, I pray that the model displayed by Boaz and his community members will be extended to all those that we come in contact with.
