Last week we saw the clear indication from Acts chapter 6 that in times of crisis, the faith community has a duty to be and give of itself. In its response to the needs of the most vulnerable, there must be heavy reliance on the Spirit of God and wise actions. And what of the members of the faith community? How should we position ourselves alongside leadership to respond to crises?
I am proposing that the members of the Macedonian church, found in 2 Corinthians chapter 8, are a model of how the faith community should respond to crises, especially those that affect our basic human needs such as food security.
