Reverend Mark Dawes continues the series on “The Incarnation of The Lord Jesus Christ” which started on November 7th. The incarnation took place about 2,000 years ago when the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to the earth as a baby and lived 33 years until His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension to heaven. While Jesus lived on the earth He was the God-Man. Jesus was, and remains, fully God and fully man.
Today our meditation comes from Hebrew 1:1-3. “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high“.
This passage teaches us that God is a speaking God. It tells us that God spoke in times past in various ways through the patriarchs and the prophets. But, says Hebrews 1:2, God has in these last days spoken to us through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is God’s final revelation of Himself to humanity. God has raised His voice loud and clear to speak to us in Jesus Christ, and we would do well to “Hear ye Him”.
