For the month of December, we reflect on the advent season and continue to look at “The Announcement, The Expectation, The Exaltation, and The Manifestation” from the Book of Luke, chapters 1 and 2. Today we look at both Elizabeth’s and Mary’s exaltations as we continue from Luke 1:34-79.
We see Mary is excited about all that she has heard from the angel Gabriel. The Bible says she went with haste to visit Elizabeth, her relative. The Greek word for haste used in the Bible gives the idea that Mary went with a purpose, she was on business for the King. God had chosen them both, Mary to bring the Messiah, and Elizabeth to bring the one to pave the way for His coming.
As we celebrate this Advent season, what is our celebration about? What is your celebration about? Is it about celebrating and declaring the greatness of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? Or do we the people of God, like the rest of the world, remove the Christ in Christmas?
