Welcome to today’s special Christmas Edition of Moment of Hope. As our nation continues to recover from Hurricane Melissa, many families are rebuilding, many communities are restarting, and all of us are reflecting on what truly matters during this season.
Today, we shine a light on a powerful theme, Volunteerism – The Gift We Give. This gift has been transforming lives across Jamaica since the hurricane. Our special guest today is Shana-Kay Barnett-McCallum, a volunteer with Samaritan’s Purse, an organisation known worldwide for bringing emergency relief, hope and Christian compassion to communities in crisis.
Dr Margarett Barnett is a Vice President of Jamaica Theological Seminary. She has spent over twenty years working in private, nonprofit organisations that focus on providing services to young people and their families.
