Reverend Mark Dawes concludes the series on “The Incarnation of The Lord Jesus Christ” which started on November 7th. The incarnation took place about 2,000 years ago when the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to the earth as a baby and lived 33 years until His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension to heaven. While Jesus lived on the earth He was the God-Man. Jesus was, and remains, fully God and fully man.
Today our meditation comes from Isaiah 9:2. “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined“.
For persons who embrace Hinduism, this past November 4th they would have celebrated “Diwali“, which is also known as a festival of lights. For Judaism, November 28-December 6, was the celebration of their festival of lights, known as “Hanukkah“. Christmas is a season of lights. Isaiah 9:2 talks about a “Great Light“.
