According to the Child Protection and Family Services Agency, many children in Jamaica face extremely difficult realities in their families and communities. This often results in government authorities removing them from the situation. Foster care has been a desirable alternative to placing a child in a residential childcare facility.
It is Youth and Parent Month. Foster Care provides an opportunity for us to reignite the village, and empower youths for Jamaica 60 and beyond. My guest today is Renate McDonald, a foster mother. Today she shares with us her foster care journey.
